Daytona Speedway Track History
The planning for the construction of the Daytona track was originated by NASCAR founder William France Sr in 1953. He met with Daytona Beach engineer Charles Moneypenny about the matter. After that, Charles visited several tracks across the USA to build Daytona speedway according to William’s plan.
